Kollydee is casually refered to as the singing doctor. That should already tell you what his profession is.
We had a moment of his busy schedule. And I am personally excited to share it with y'all.
He seems like a let's get down to business kind of guy, which I think he is. But he is also a people person, very warm and endearing.

rayscorner: Hello..
Thanks once again for indulging us. So let's meet kollydee.

Kollydee: My name is Alade kolade Tolulope. I'm a singer, Song Writer and a medical doctor. From Ekiti state... But I've lived most of my life in Lagos and Ukraine.

rayscorner: Alright, So how long have you been singing?

Kollydee: I have been singing since I was a child maybe 6. But professionally I started in  2015, released my first single in 2015

rayscorner: I'm guessing like every good singer out there you started from church

Kollydee: uhm.. so yea, I'm sure if I started in church, but as a kid we went to church, did choreography to some of these songs... " come let's praise the lord" ( laughs out loud).
Back in uni while in Ukraine, I was choir master in my church also. So yea, I guess church played it's role.

rayscorner: So do you miss singing in church? The Good old choral feeling.?

Kollydee: Yea, I do miss singing in church. Cos I learned the basics in church, singing harmony, learning to play instruments. But now I don't quite get the time to do all that anymore.
Basically being in choir, helped me grow as a singer. But it was fun while it lasted. Now I don't have that time, not any more.

rayscorner: How would you describe your style of singing, your genre?

Kollydee : Hmmm.. Everyone knows I'm an RnB singer. I do other styles too, but primarily I'm an RnB singer.

rayscorner: Who is your favorite artist and why?

Kollydee: That would be ASA, she inspires me a lot. Her's was the first CD I ever got, I was really young back then, as she greatly influenced my love for music writing.

rayscorner: As a medical doctor how easy is it for you to combine it with music?

Kollydee: To be honest it's not easy. It is exhausting, most times it is exhausting both physically and mentally. But when you have a passion for something you try to pay the price. Especially when it is worth it.

rayscorner: If you had to choose, which one would you choose, and of course we want to know why.

Kollydee: Hmmm,  if I had to choose I guess I would choose music. I'd like to have sometime to focus on my music. Not permanently, but yea.

rayscorner: Here's the thing, I know the dream for most entertainers is to be a household name. I feel like you can attain both with either profession. So if the God of fame came to ask you which of the two professions would you like to be famous for, what would be your Answer?

Kollydee: Hmmm. This is so tricky. ( Laughs out loud) I at some point left medcine for music.. And I couldn't ,  I ran back to the hospital. I love them both.. But if I wanted to pick one.. I guess Music.. Ah... I also love medicine.. ( Laughs out loud)

rayscorner: I'm sure your fans and our readers wanna know.. Are you Single?

Kollydee: Yes, I am single for now. It might change soon.

rayscorner: I remember watching you audition for The Voice and it didn't quite go well. I mean you are obviously a good singer, so What was that experience like for you?

Kollydee:  The Voice, oh it was quite an experience. I'm happy it didn't break me. Also I'm quite aware of my gift, so that kind of helped me move on.
And another factor is, I auditioned toward the tail end of the show, most of the judges had their team almost full. So it was tougher. But really I just did it out of boredom. And I've been doing okay since then, put out an EP with a single "Maria Maria"

rayscorner: Given the opportunity, would you try again?

Kollydee: No, frankly, most of these shows don't Necessarily produce stars and what I really want is to become a star. So I guess imma keep dong my thing.

rayscorner: What's up? I speak for many, when I say we have been expecting another EP. When man?

Kollydee: I have an Ep out already like I said.. "sinus rhythm" you can check it out. And i have another coming out pretty soon.

rayscorner: What is an average day in your life like?

Kollydee : Wake up, shower, go to the gym, go to work usually 9am- 4pm. And after work I try to create music. I also go out too..I love to eat, so. I visit restaurants. That kind of thing.

rayscorner: How do you unwind, what things do you do for fun?

Kollydee: Uhm Beach, with friends, visit restaurants. I'm a "jaiye guy", so I like to hang out a lot, so owambe ( chuckles)  I'm kind of like an Ambivert. 

rayscorner: You have lived both outside Nigeria and here in Nigeria. As an artist, which one do you prefer?

Kollydee: As an Artist for me, I preferred it when I was in Ukraine. But here in Nigeria its so stressful dealing with the electricity, roads , traffic. Uh.. Also the industry in Ukraine is quite supporting, it's so easy to book gigs. I remember as a medical student i was getting gigs back to back. But, here in Nigeria being an Artist is so hard. Most Artists here are struggling.

rayscorner: Do you like many Nigerians, especially Doctors have plans of permanently relocating abroad?

Kollydee: Many people ask this question. And that has been making me think about it. But for now I guess I'm still here. We will see what the future holds.

rayscorner: We have all had bad days, or nightmare experiences can you share one with us.

Kollydee: Uhmm. I'm actually a forgetful person, when I have nightmare experiences I try to forget it.

rayscorner: If you had a genie what would be your 3 wishes?

Kollydee: 1. To be happy Forever, 2.To be an international Superstar, 3. To travel the world.

rayscorner: Finally, do you mind telling us what projects you are working on, and how soon should we expect them to drop.?

Kollydee: Well I have some singles lined up. I haven't put out music since 2020. Working on switching up the style a bit. Also, i'm big on collaborations right now. I'm planning on working with some of the Big names our there. So, watch out.
